A square Aipan chowki with a swastik at its heart, framed under glass.
The swastik sits at the centre of a chowki, the square ritual drawing that welcomes the gods into a Kumaoni home. Bands of triangles, lotus petals and dotted borders radiate out from it in white biswar and marigold.
Painted by hand on a geru ground, then framed so it can live on a wall all year rather than wash away after the festival.
